MINUTES OF 2014 MEETINGS 

March 19, 2014

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 1:00 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the December 18, 2013 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: SBE Chapter two granted a $300.00 Scholarship to Johnson College and paid $75.00 for the holiday dinner which leaves our balance at $305.11

Old Business: Joe Glynn will follow up on a donation from Dielectric Communications

New Business: Mike, the frequency coordinator asked for a current list of 7 GHz and 13 Ghz frequencies from users of those bands.

Presentation: Linear Acoustic Corporation did a presentation on the CALM act and demonstrated their processing equipment.

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the March 19, 2014 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: There was no activity since the last meeting which leaves our balance at $305.11

Old Business: There was no old business.

New Business: The SBE national office has produced a DVD titled 50 Years of SBE. We plan to show it at a future meeting.

Presentation: Perry Priestly of Anywaywave Communications gave a presentaion on UHF TV power amplifier design, comparing IOT and solid state designs.

July 31, 2014

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 1:03 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the June 5, 2014 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: Dielectric Communications donated $100.00 to SBE Chapter two for the scholarship program. We also received $223.75 for the chapter rebate leaving our current balance at $628.86

Old Business: We will be showing the SBE DVD 50 years of SBE at the next meeting, probably in September after everyone is back from vacations.

New Business: None

Presentation: Applied Video Technology gave a presenation of their TriCaster and 3Play systems. Members also got to see the FOX 56 studio and master control room.

September 10, 2014

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 6:50 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the July 31, 2014 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: There was no activity since the last meeting so the balance stands at $628.86

Old Business: None

New Business: None

Presentation: Gino Richidelli gave a talk about the last 50 years of SBE. Besides the DVD playback, Gino presented some interesting facts about our area. WBRE TV went on the air June 1953, WNEP in 1954.
Members and guests also got a tour of the WNEP studios. Thanks to WNEP for hosting this meeeting and providing pizza.

December 18, 2014 The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 7:40 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the September 10, 2014 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: The was no activity since the last meeting, therefore the current balance is still $626.86.

Old Business: None.

New Business: There was a discussion of who was responsible for paying for road maintenance to the transmitter sites on Penobscot Knob. WVIA owns the land and in the past the maintenance costs were apportioned amongst the users of the site. Because of many changes in station ownership, the formula is now obselete. Gary Talhiewicz was appointed to form a committee to come up with a new formula for sharing the road maintenance expense.

Chapter 2 Elections: There being no other candidates for the various offices the incumbents were elected by unanimous ballot as follows: Chairman Joe Glynn, Vice Chairman Pete Sakowski, Secretary Robert Reite, Treasurer, John Koons.
The following committee chairman were appointed. Certification Robert Reite, Frequency Coordination Mike Morchavich, Webmaster Robert Reite. Chapter 2 has no membership chairman or newsletter editor.

Presentation: A presentation was given about implementing a streaming "TV Everywhere" service, so that viewers could watch TV on their smart phones or tablets, as well as their conventional home TV sets.
